Topic: Workout with no result?
I`m overweight and really need to lose weight. I`m 5 ft 7 in and 181 lb and I should lose about 35-40 lb. I don`t have a time limit but want to get rid of the extra weight by May or June. I`ve been jogging regularly for over a month, and no results, I run for 30 minutes each morning and 15 minutes in the evening. Why can`t I lose weight? Although I try to eat healthy, could my diet be the problem?

I think you need to change something in your diet although you eat healthy food. If you work out as much as you say and still no results show up, diet may be your problem. Try to reduce portion sizes and start counting your calories. I use the free diet and workout planner at Project Weight Loss. That`s how you can check how many calories you eat and burn. You can select your meals and workout program and the website shows if you`re over the calorie limit you should stick to. I`m sure that if you burn more than you eat you`ll see results in a short while. Good luck!

"lifting weights is a MUST" when you want to lose fat.
Staying away from carbs, is crazy because it isn't healthy. changing bad food habits for the miracle plant or beverage is Irresponsible with your body. Don't ask your next door neighbor about this, look for a professional certified trainer or health specialist.
And KEEP AWAY FROM ATKINS, HIGH PROTEIN, POINTS, FRUITS ONLY, HERBALIFE, AGEL, ANT ETC. DIETS.Don't be cruel with your health.
Develop healthy food habits instead of those miracle products.
Eat 6 meals a day. For example:
MORNING
breakfast
snack
lunch
AFTERNOON
snack
snack
dinner
gO
Do strenght training and then cardio. Don't over train. Remember, there is not such a thing as "spot reduction" .
That's the magic recipe: strenght training + cardio + healthy food habits. and... keeping away from miracle products.
But please, ask your phisician before doing this. Go to a proffesional fitness center an ask for advice.

I know this will be a late reply but this can serve as a helpful guide for more people ;)

I agree with the post above on some points ... not all... The diet should be split in 5 "small meals" Equally split, The fact that you are splitting the meal into smaller portions will boost your metabolism thus burning more fat. (and one needs a balanced amount of protein & carbs)

If women do weight training... they will not get a man's body forget that... so dont be afraid of adding some weight training. Women dont have enough testosterone to get a man's body.

Instead of jogging try burst training... were you use your maximum energy for about 10 to 20 seconds ...than relax (at about 65% of your maximum heart rate - as in jogging) after 2 minutes 30 seconds of jogging repeat the sprint again for 10-20 seconds... and again jog... etc etc... Do this for about 20-40 minutes for 3 times a week...

Stop alcohol intake or reduce it drastically!

These guys/girls all gave some great advice. The 2 most important are that you NEED to do weight training, and you need to make you diet as clean as possible. However, it's not necessary to eat more meals per day, unless that works for you. The whole 6 meals per day thing has absolutely no evidence to support it, but it has some to say it's not true. So if eating 6 meals per day is going to make it harder on you, don't do it because it DOESN'T boost your metabolism. All it does is make it more complicated to lose weight, which is why most people end up quitting. Just start eating healthy food instead of junk - it'll start coming off!
